Pantone's Color of the Year - Marsala

Pantone recently announced their official color of 2015 is Marsala, a beautiful rich red wine color.  We recently showcased this beautiful jewel tone at Hotel Arista's Fall Bi-Annual Tasting.  This color is going to be a hot hue for brides this year and is sure to make for a swoon-worthy wedding. According to Pantone's executive director Leatrice Eiseman, marsala conveys a sense of "glamor and luxury" and draws us in to its embracing warmth."  I love how it adds a touch of drama to any look.  The great thing about the color is the number of other colors it will pair so beautifully with.  Sensual and bold, it can be a daring tone for spring.  It also has an autumn feel that evokes warmth and richness and sophistication.  Last years winning color was bright and bold (Orchid), whilst this years winner is warm and earthy.  Even though dark red is usually associated with fall and winter weddings, marsala is actually a very versatile wedding color when paired with complementary colors or neutrals. Marsala, blush and ivory is a classic and  pretty palette for any season or pair the color of the year with bright corals and oranges for a summery vibe. When it comes to wedding flowers, peonies and dahlias grow naturally in this dark red hue, and these big-headed blooms evoke a romantic quality.  I am so excited to see what beautiful weddings emerge this year at Hotel Arista using "Marsala" as the key color.
